| ततस्स गत्वा ताः पत्नीर्नरेन्द्रो हृदयप्रियाः उवाच दीक्षां विशत यक्ष्येऽहं सुतकारणात् |
| Tatassa gatvā tāḥ patnī: narendro hṛdaya-priyāḥ Uvācā dīkṣāṃ viśata yakṣye’ham sutakāraṇāt |
| ததஸ்ஸ கத்வா தா: பத்த்னீ: நரேந்த்ரோ ஹ்ருதயப்ரியா: உவாச தீக்ஷாம் விஷத யக்ஷ்யேஹம் சுதகாரணாத் |
| Then the king, having gone to his beloved queens who were dear to his heart, said to them: “For the purpose of obtaining sons, I shall perform a sacrificial rite; therefore, you too shall enter into dīkṣā, the solemn vow marking formal commencement and disciplined commitment to the ritual.” |
| அந்நேரம், தன் உள்ளத்துக்கு இனிய மனைவிகளிடம் அரசன் சென்று உரைத்தான்:“புத்திரப் பேற்றின் பொருட்டு நான் வேள்வி செய்ய விரும்புகிறேன். ஆகவே, அந்த வேள்வியின் முறையான தொடக்கத்தையும், நியமநிஷ்டைகளோடு கூடிய துறவுத் திண்மையையும் குறிக்கும் தீக்ஷையை நீங்களும் ஏற்க வேண்டும்.” |
